I haven't blogged in months. Now I've been micro-blogging via Twitter which I'm obsessed with but "no blogging". I like twitter so much that I integrated my twitter feed into this site! So though I haven't been blogging, my tweets have been updating automatically.

Now don't get me wrong I haven't abandoned blogging at all, I just haven't been at a job where I sit in front of the computer for 8+ hours a day. An office job is a blogger's best friend, I used to blog in between work assignments all the fucking time. I'd even take my break or lunch at my desk as I was putting the finishing touches on blog or two or six.

The recent news of my formers employers financial hardships, just put a grin far too big on my face to not blog about it. First and foremost Id like to say Fuck Myspace. Now that we've gotten that out the way, I feel much more revealed. 2 days ago I got a call from a singer/songwriter that I used to work with at myspace.com, Michael Spencer. I was sitting in traffic at the time on the 405 (as usual) when I got the call about myspace fired 420 people. 420?? What a closet smoker number to pick, not 419 or even 418, they laid off 420 people and probably smoked a J after, WTF?

Funny thing is I heard that they only gave the employees, 3 hours notice...Who does that?? Rupert Murdoch does that. The second he bought myspace it was destined to fail. I worked in the company for over 14-months and that's the number one thing I took from that experience. That those muthafuckas were in way over their heads. The people they had running the CS and the general development team just didnt not have a realist grip on the pulse of the consumer. They tried to over corporatize (if thats even a word) a company and a product that was "designed" to operate very simple and efficiently. After pouring in 3 yrs and thousands of hours of misguided effort, Rupert finally came to the realization that the shit was not working and responded by pretty much firing EVERYONE.

I Got Fired!

Well technically I didn't get fired but that's how I feel. I was a 14-month temp at Myspace, so I wasn't fired according to my agency, my assignment just ended. How convient yet polically correct. Well word to the wise, whether you call it being fired or you assignment ends, losing your job sucks, regardless and some little fluffed up vernacular does change that.

Funny how it all went down though...I was on my way home from work one day on a Friday. A usual Friday like any other friday, nothing special about it at all. Then I get the call out of nowhere, no conference with management, no intervention, no warning they just let me go. I can't say I'm shocked because people at Myspace have been droppin' like flies. They let over 30 people go over the last 3 months including the supervisor of the department whom they escorted out as if he hadn't been working their for 3 years.

The unfortunate loss of my job occured about a week and a half ago and I haven't blogged since. I guess I haven't had anything to blog about or at least nothing to blog about that I felt like was worthwhile or interesting to anyone other than myself. But I'm back now blog world!!! Armed with my trademark wit and undying proclivity toward 4 letter words.

P.S my roomate just called me a fair weather blogger. Fuckin Hilarious!!!

If you haven't seen Lie To Me yet I suggest you start, its the hottest new show on TV. I've been watching since they aired the pilot and I've been hooked ever since. The show focuses on a team of investigators that specialize in reading peoples body language and facial expressions to determine whether they are lying on not and more importantly why. But what really makes the show so interesting is the variety of scenarios and situations these investigators find themselves in combined the multi-faceted characters that drive the show (having sexy ass red bone Monica Raymund on the show doesn't hurt either!) In some instances the investigators are more screwed up and damaged than the people theyre investigating, which makes for great television. The show is still in the 1st season and the characters are still developing so nows a good a time as any to jump on board. It airs Wednesday Nights on Fox.

Qik is slowly becoming my favorite blackberry app, next Viigo (RSS Reader). Qik allows you to record videos on your blackberry and stream them to the internet with just the click of a button. Just download the app and press record and as its recording on your phone its uploading directly to internet with about a half a second to 2 second delay. Once the videos are uploaded you can view them, send them and embed the videos just like youtube videos. It's a pretty revolutionary app in my opinion and worth checking out.

So I've bought a few albums lately mainly because I listen to music all day everyday, partially because I'm passionate about music and partially because its an occupational hazard in my line of work. And I don't just listen to CD's I listen to catalogs, like I'll find an artist or band I like and then find their catalog and list to every single song on every CD they've released in succession, breaking only for sustenance and the occasional bathroom break. The CD that's been in the heavy rotation lately for me has been Kings Of Leon - Only By The Night, it is by far one of the best CD's Ive picked up in the last 6-8 months, next to The-Dream's album of course. I can play this CD straight threw without skipping a song (except for "Crawl") and after extended listening sessions the replay value remains. So I recommend this album to hard core rock fans or even casual rock fans looking for something to scream along to while stuck in traffic on the 405. With a more refined evolution of a sound they've been honing for over 8 years, this album delivers like Fed-Ex and is perfectly capable of pleasing the music nerd and casual consumer alike.

No joke, I have lived for video games ever since I set foot on a powerpad. I might not know everything about games, I don't have the latest systems, and I don't even really play all that much, but video games are the biggest influences by far on my life. I literally work now so that I can have a nice enough apartment with free time and quality equipment for video games. It's not that I am addicted to fun or anything, but there is something to be said for controlling the fate of main characters, basketball players, and fighter ships using only your thumbs and abstract reasoning. I think the significance of what video gaming in our society has just begun. Similar to the novels and films of the previous millennium, video games and their derivatives will be celebrated throughout the Earth as worthy of ubiquitous icon status. 20 years from now, the original Nintendo will be found in museums, and streets in art districts across the will be named after game developers like Miyamoto, and Will Wright.

As you can tell by my 'vision of the future' my love for video games exists on multiple levels, and takes on way too much significance. This is what my blog is about, letting video games tell the story in between the lines, and thriving as humankind's beautiful reflective manifestations of our own earthly ability.

I've been going to Cal State Northridge (CSUN) for a few years now and every year its the same story, lose to the conference Juggernaut Pacific (after a hard fought season) and watch the greatest spectacle in all sports March Madness from home. But this year is all about CHANGE and this year boys and girls we've got our dancing shoes ready because we're heading to The Big Dance! Being the Uber Sports Fan that I am I couldn't be more excited!!!! This is my first opportunity to get a change to experience high stakes college athletics with a winning team! For so many years I'd just sit home and watch the Dukes', the North Carolina's, the Georgetown's of the world and wondering why that could be us and why couldn't I be that drunkin' rabbit fan in full body paint haggling the referees??? Well now's my change and its bittersweet to say the least. My school has finally been selected to be part of the field of 64, one of 64 teams fighting for their place in history, part of 64 teams put it all on the line as they race to cut down the nets.

By my accounts March Madness started 2 days ago when Syracuse defeated UConn in 6OT's. The feelings in the air, Can You Feel It? Can Feel It? The type of excitement only found during March Madness. Who's this year's Stephan Curry? Who's this years George Mason or Davison? Could it be Northridge? or maybe your school? Thats what makes The Big Dance, well The Big Dance because you simple dont know whats going to happen. Which No. 1 seed will fall first, will they all fall? Everyone loves a good upset and you wont find bigger upsets anywhere else but here. There's about 10 to 15 teams looking for the biggest win in school history and 10 to 15 teams willing to do anything to prevent that, you couldnt write a better storyline if someone paid you to. Watching the ball hit the bottom of the net from 35 feet as the No. 1 seed falls and the fans of completely unknown Ginavitus University flood the court like a million ants in school colors is sight like no other! The NBA has nothing on passion like this!

My only regret is that I didn't go to school with a better athletic program so I could enjoy this experience more frequently than once every 8 years. With that said, fuck the haters, Lets Go Matadors!!!

I read an interesting article about Kanye's VH1 performance and it said that during the set Ye dissed Radiohead who snubbed him at the Grammy's and asked the audience to give Chris "Layin the Smackdown" Brown a break. VH1 somehow found the need to edit both statements out of the show along with another 30 minutes of footage. Kanye West gets CENSORED once again, no news flashes there. Back to the topic at hand, Kanye's performance was amazin' as usual. I really wasn't a fan of 808's & Heartbreak at all, but seeing Ye perform the records was actually quite entertaining. He was able to breathe new life into records I didn't even like. He's a true performer, if I ever seen one.

Let me try to make a long story short (if that's even possible). I met this chick a few weeks ago, we started kicking and shit. I told her when I met her that I’m not here to play games and that some (almost all) of the women in the past I have dealt with have had issues telling the truth and that honesty is one of the most important things to me in a woman. As time went on she started to get more personal with me asking me to be her valentine (in not so many words), talking about taking me out and doing something special for me and what not. Telling me how she was really feeling all things Michael (and rightfully so), from that point the situation escalated as you can imagine.

Then out of the blue one day she tells me she kinda has a boyfriend. “You kinda have a boyfriend?” was my immediate response. Turns out they had been kinda together for a year. She then tells me he hasn’t been doing the things he used to do when they first started dating and how I do all the things he doesn’t and blah blah blah. Now she’s confused on what direction to go in and she’s been acting all weird and shit. And my whole thing is why not be honest from the start? I gave her plenty of opportunities to be honest and she chose not to and now we’re where we’re at now. She's confused and behaving strangely and I'm just like "Damn, it was all good just a week ago".

Since I live in LA, I have to put it like this, “Why do women in LA have such a problem being honest?” Is Los Angeles itself to blame? Does being surrounded by fake superficial people and smoke and mirrors systematically prevent women in Los Angeles from being honest with anyone? Does this fake town create fake people? Or is it something much deeper?

My question is why not just be honest? Or at least be honest when someone requests you to? If she said she had a dude in the beginning then she wouldn’t be all confused right now and acting weird.

This isn’t an aberration by any stretch of the word; the number one problem I have with women that I’ve dated out in Los Angeles is that they refuse, refuse, refuse to be honest (not only with me but with themselves as well). It happens every time, it’s like I’m dating the same woman over and over again, and it’s just too predictable. The bodies, the faces, the lies change but the story remains the same and ends the same every single time. And I’m honestly supposed to take any of these relationships seriously??

I can only take women as seriously as they take themselves, and for many of them it’s just In-N-Out like a drive-thru. But I do that and I run the risk of being classified as a playa or dog. What’s brother to do? You do you and they’re calling you a dog, a playa, leaving angry voice mails but you do the right thing like a Spike Lee flick and you get lies and games, what would you do?

It’s so easy to sit back and criticize men and our sometimes deplorable behavior and say fuck men, they’re all "dogs" but it’s much harder for a "bitch" to look at herself in the mirror and recognize her own part in this "doggy dog world".

Last night I went to go see Taken; everyone has had such high praise for the film I had to see it for myself. After recently seeing Push (which was excellent) and Friday the 13th I wasn’t sure if I was going to be as impressed with Taken as some of my friends. I didn’t have to doubt too long, once Taken started it took off running and never stopped.

Taken had the entire theater (including yours truly) on the edge of our seats wondering what’s going to happen next, watching every clue, paying attention to every line. By the end of the film I was thoroughly satisfied with my experience, if I had to grade Taken I couldn’t give it anything less than an “A”. Its Ransom meets The Bourne series on steroids!! I recommend this movie to anyone.

During the show the 2 white panelist kept trying to throw in hip hop phrases and references with their responses to sports questions, failing miserable and creating multiple awkward silent moments. As the segment came to a close (2:10 into the video) in the ultimate showing of utter lameness panelist Woody Paige did what all your drunk white friends do to try to show that they're down and hip, yes people HE STARTED RAPPING, mind you Woody is pushing 63!! Old ass Woody Paige was rapping!! Easily providing the most embarrassing TV moment of the recently blogger coined "post-race era".

But I don't fault Woody Paige at all, busting out in spontaneous raps is a natural Caucasian neuro-response to blackness, especially perceived cool blackness at that. The second your white friends and or coworkers start to perceive you as cool, one of them (the brave one) will inevitably start rapping to you and expressing to you how much they love whatever rapper is hot on Top 40 radio at the time, it might be at a office party or in the car on the way to the club or at a bar in hermosa but it will happen. All you can do is pray the song they pick doesn't have the N-word in it because if it does they will NOT omit the word and that can lead to conversation no one looks forward to. Lamar Odom High In Post Game Interview?

Fast forward 2 minutes into the video and watch Lamar Odom's interview. Is it just me or was Lamar Odom high as hell in the post game interview??? His eyes were hella red and he kept saying the word focus over and over again, then he said some funny shit to the interviewer chick and walked off...That's some high nigga shit If I ever seen it, rambling on and on repeating his self. Lamar has been playing lights out basketball as of late and the mary jane may be whats triggering the recent improvement in his game (a new found focus...weed is good for that). Welcome to the bizarre world of craigslist. I've been trying to sell my second car, a 1993 Chevy Cavalier for about a week now on craigslist; and the weird people and odd low ball offers I've been getting have been ridiculous.

I'm selling it for $650 but I've gotten soooo many weird low ball offers that I’m just at the point where I'm fuckin with people now, making bizarre requests and shit. For example I posted my number on the ad and said call or text me. So some dude texted me this:

They have a homeless woman who is clearly still in her homeless gear draped in messy ass lady liberty costume over her homeless get up, prancing her ass around Inglewood with a "GET CASH NOW" sign. You have to be an idiot to think a homeless woman in a cheap ass lady liberty costume holding a "GET CASH NOW" sign actually knows where the cash is! The nigga that see's that sign and is like "oh yeah that mutha fucka right there in that fucked up lady liberty get up, she's knows where the cash is at for sure! " deserves whatever bullshit coming to him.

How they gone use a homeless woman to advertise how to get "GET CASH NOW" thats like a barefoot shoe salesman, a barber with a fucked up hair cut or a car salesman thats riding the bus, something just aint right about it (to me at least).

Whats the most interesting thing about it is that the homeless woman's depiction of lady liberty is the most accurate one I've seen in a while. Teacher Is A Freak!

I just read the article about Angela Renee Comer, the Kentucky teacher who got 10 years for having sex and running off to Mexico with one of her 13-year old students back in 2007. And from what I heard 2007 was the year of the “cradle-robbing female teachers” as one writer described it. The funniest thing to me is the boy’s name wasn’t been released to protect his identity? Protect his identity?? If I have fucked one of my teachers in middle / high school I wouldn't be about to shut up about it. Protect my identity? I’d want everyone to know, shit I’d be telling everyone! I would’ve been my classmates hero for bumpin’ one for the teachers, I would’ve been the man!!!

I actually was trying to get it cracking with one of the substitute teachers back in high school. I’ll never forget her, she was rather sexy and she was lightweight on ya boy too! But the closest I got was....gettin' it poppin with one of the my summer camp counselors back in the 7^th grade, after I got some 3^rd base action with her, niggas couldn’t tell me “shit” till 8^th grade came around, I was the man in my eyes (and that's when my fascination for older women first began and I've been going strong ever since). I don’t want to have to be chasing their fast asses around trying to make sure they are out getting into mischief with these knuckle head niggas in the streets. I don’t want them watching MTV and BET and feeling like that’s what they are suppose to measure up to and that that’s how they are suppose to walk, talk, dress and think like my little nimrod sister does.

One of my sisters is bizarre introvert klepto nerd with an obsessive whining disorder but at least she’s not a runner, and most likely her socially changed bizarre superman ass will end up being a lawyer or something successful along those lines.

While my other sister is a halfway emo skinny jean wearing weed smoking Rihanna clone (even down to the hair cut) with the figure of a 12-year old boy and she’s quite fast. She may very well be a runner for all I know and I ain’t talking about like Jackie Joyner-Kersee. She lives her life based on how MTV, BET & Lil Weezy show her how to behave and lets that influence and ultimately determine her priorities in life. She dates these knuckle head played out thug-type niggas that think they are Game or some other equivalent gang-affiliated rapper. She lets these pea brains who can’t see the forest from the trees be the guiding light in her life and none of us (her family) really know what she’s going to turn out to be. Is she going to get over this faze and become a functioning member of society or is she going to be another confused bitter black woman 25 with 3 kids, low self worth trying to hit the club at get impregnated by a rich nigga or ball player? Only time will tell.

For this reason I want my daughters to be nerds especially now that the Obama’s put the black nerd on the map, a traditionally underrepresented group. The black nerd never get their just do, never get a shout out on a T.I song, never get their own reality show like Real Chance At Nerd or I Love Nerd-York. You never see the nerds in the music videos balancing puffy’s balance sheet why he’s poppin’ bottles and pouring champagne on strippers asses. The black nerd has been the rock of the black community for longer that you would imagine yet they have been underrepresented in the media for sure and often shunned as being unauthentic. But the fact remains that though all this they have held the black community together (literally) through our many ups and downs.

The black nerd is all around you. They’re the brother of the cool kid (that he never talked about) that grows up to an accountant and takes care of the family while the cool brother knocks up 3 or 4 chicks and can’t keep a steady job at 30 and finally settles down with an Asian woman and moves to Glendale. The black nerds are the lawyers and businessmen and women in those high rises downtown doing all the work while their white bosses take all the credit (I Think I Love My Wife for more info). They’re the community organizers that actually get shit done in the inner city while the popular niggas is still spending their days scheming on how to get money without actually getting a job or holding on to their NBA pipe dreams. The black nerd's running for city council because he’s tired of the dismal conditions in his neighborhood while the cool are spending what little money they do have fixing up their 64 so they can cruise up and down the shaw (Crenshaw Blvd for my slang impaired readers) living out their rap music video fantasies in their head. While so many of these niggas is on MySpace wearing rags on their face throwing up gang signs or doing their best little Wayne impressions, the black nerd is hitting the books hard on his way to medical school. The doctors, nurses, lawyers, accountants, administrators, councilmen, community organizers, business owners, CEO’s and Teachers these are the black people that keep us a float but you won’t see them on the cover of Vibe or even being fairly represented on TV or in movies. They’re not doing glamorous thing or in search of the spotlight they’re not in their moms basement with fruity loops missing work trying to write the next “Ay Bay Bay” or “Lean Wit It Rock Wit It”. They’re at work “on time” getting it done, talking care of the business so that the rest of these knuckle can fuck around till they’re 30 trying to act like the mutha fuckas they see on TV and listen to on the radio before they get serious about life. They’re holding it down while you’re fuckin’ around.

The black nerd is nothing like the black people you see on TV and for good reason. If our entire races was as one dimensional as we are represented in the media then we would collapsed as a society a long time ago. Black people are far more than rappers, actors and ball players though those are our only representatives on TV. And with the death of the Black sitcom what are the young generation who are essentially raised by TV to think of themselves and their place in society? Can’t be much when TV shows like the Cosby’s and Fresh prince have been replaced by shows like Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is (that ghetto mess) and Doggy Fizzle Televizle further limiting the spectrum of diverse black images in the media. Common said it best as he talked about his daughter after the Obama’s was elected "2 years ago, my daughter wanted to be a dancer. Now she says she can be the next president.” Rise black nerds rise!!!!!

And personally I’m excited to see the black nerd charging to the forefront of black society, because it’s about damn time that black societies silent gatekeepers finally have a voice, even if it is boring and non-threatening.

I grew up around women, especially my mom who was and is still very damaged. So I speak from experience not speculation.

The key I have seen is just to Live Your Life, have fun with your friends, go places, do things you enjoy and find a world of happiness on your own and once a love interests enters that equation let him just be an addition to an already fun and successful life. So just in case for whatever reason, if he is "subtracted" from the situation it doesn't rock the boat, figuratively speaking.

Well produced, well executed and every song is solid by my estimation, he did his thing on this one but 6 records really stand out for me.

1. A Change Is Gonna Come
2. I Can't Stand The Rain
3. It's A Man's Man's Man's World
9. I'm Still In Love With You
11. Stand By Me
12. People Get Ready

10. Free (is also a good one, but Mariah's rendition of the record is just sharper and seems to stand out in my head for some reason)

Though most of these songs have been covered hundreds of times, I won’t hold that against him, I'm just going to judge this off the merit of the records themselves in the time period it was released (2008) and overall the record is solid from top to bottom.

The album starts off with the ultra soulful classic "A Change Is Gonna Come" and finishes up with another change inspired record "People Get Ready" The Impressions 1965 hit written in the year after the civil rights March on Washington, so it’s only fitting that this record dropped in the year of “Change”. The highlight of this album is how the records themselves come full circle with where we are today, because even though these songs were written decades ago their social relevance stands even till this day.

The overall theme of the album is love, freedom and change, I cant argue with that. I feel like the record is well done and well timed, like the Ultimate Soul Mix CD that just hits in the right places and the right time.

I was watching TV on my 55" Sony High Def TV (Yeah Boi!!!) the other day and my nigga Robnigga asked me why the fuck do I watch so many white sitcoms. And my response was what the fuck else am I going to watch??? There aren't any worthwhile black sitcoms on TV are there? After about 5 minutes of hard pondering we came to the realization that we couldn't name a single black sitcom on TV right now. WTF?

So my question is What Happened To The Black Sitcom?

How did the black sitcom get phased out of TV and get replaced by shows like Flavor of Love and Hell Date?

Hope.

Yes this is proof If I ever seen it. I always felt like this country was too racist to vote for black man no matter how much more qualified he was than his white counterpart. Today I am wrong and have never felt happier about being wrong ever.

I feel hope for America for all those people who could have voted the same way they have for last 220 years, “if it aint white, it aint right” but instead chose to put their prejudice and fear of the unknown behind them to vote for Barack Obama and the change he represents. This gives me hope for America, a hope I never would have imagined I'd have. I mean, dude won in a land slide! How could one candidate represent so much and he never slipped up, never lose focus, never deviated from his message. This man is not only historic but heroic!!!!

I don't know about you but he is "My Hero"!

Class act all the way!

And when he said “I'm your president too, even for all those whose votes I did not earn!” that shit was just another statement to cement the fact that dude is on another level.

He stood in the face of death threats, racism from so many different directions, people questioning his heritage, his religion, his very name and through all that this man never flinched, never lost his focus, never hit back. He just continued to run his flawless campaign. HERO.

He never alienated anyone, and always praised the candidates running against him, many times at the beginning of his own speeches. The whole way he conducted himself set a new standard politically and socially and for that he has my respect.

This is how I see it today:

My last blog about America I wrote about how disappointed I am in America, but this blog I write about how proud I am of America. A nation that has a long and storied history of racial oppression and bigotry has taking its first step in healing one of many wounds by looking past the policies of the past, by looking past the color of a man’s skin and electing the first Black President of the United States of America. I know so many Americas were tempted to fall back on the old customs and old ways. But on Nov. 4th many Americas put aside their prejudices and proclivity to sameness and took a chance, a chance on Change. And to be honest I did not believe America had grown up enough to take that chance, just 50 years removed from the Jim Crowe laws, from the open Lynching of Blacks, from the Civil Right Movement I just didn’t believe that this nation had moved far enough away from its racist roots. Up until 8pm on Nov.4th I felt like somehow some way racist white America was going to find away to steal this moment from us just as they have stolen everything else from us. But when CNN projected that Obama was the president-elect just as the polls on the west coast were closing (8pm) all that hostility all the disappointment and distrust was released and replace by a feeling of joy, pride and Hope.

This was a defining moment for me as black man for the first time I looked at this nation and said “maybe there’s hope for us all after all”. This is a moment where hope, optimism and equality overtook Racism, and it’s about fuckin’ time! Even if this moment only last 24 hours, I’m going to revel in my naive belief that things are going to be different now but that’s only until reality sinks in I hear a few gun shots from around the corner as the police continue to murder unarmed black men like cattle. This moment will not end racism but this is a shining example that America is not as racist as I thought it was and that’s all the Hope I need. I mean I was just sure that racist white America could not look past their racism to the side once they stepped in the voting booth, boy was I wrong.

No one would have believed America would have voted for a black man in a landslide for President, even one such as Obama who was so qualified, so educated and so dignified. The perception that America was just too over ran with racism and prejudice to vote in a black president has long been America’s calling card and today that perception has changed. Being black in America it’s like you’ve always had to work twice as hard and had to be twice as good as your white counterpart just to get the “chance” to compete and Obama’s campaign was exactly that. Twice as good as good as McCain’s campaign from top to bottom. Obama’s political campaign was near perfect as MSNBC described it, and it had to be.

Condoleezza Rice was absolutely correct when she said: “There was a threshold that we crossed as a nation yesterday”

The social implications of Barack Obama’s presidency as a well educated, dignified, classy black man are endless. He broke a glass ceiling today and raised the bar for all of us, not only people of color but for whites as well. The dignity and respect he exhibited for himself, for the nation’s people and even for his opposing candidates during his campaign should be a lesson to us all and a blue print for a new kind of politics.

What was the most astonishing thing about Obama’s message is that he continues to use the words we, us, ours not me and I when delivering his speeches, attaching a certain degree of accountability to Americans for the fate of this nation.

He established a new template for politics putting the issues above his race, he ran as an American candidate who happens to be black not a black president. He created the template for all future people of color who run for president.

His HUMILITY and strength through all this is to be admired.

I look at all these people who put their prejudice to the side , put their stereotypes to the side, put their fear of the black man and blackness to the side and judge this man off the strength of his own merits and voted for him, within that act I see hope. Hope that people will put their prejudice and stereotypes against me because of the color of my skin to the side and judge me truly off the merit of my character. Hope for all those who would face potential discrimination, this gives us all hope that Americans as a whole can look past their prejudices, judge us my the strength of our character and treat us equality.

So this black girl I work with for all intents and purposes let’s call her Black Girl Lost told me she didn’t vote because it was against her beliefs. Her argument is that she doesn’t believe in the president or the government, she believes in god so she doesn’t vote. WTF?? She said the president can’t end world hunger or change the hearts of murders and child molesters so she won’t vote for him. Much of her so called beliefs and argument was surrounded around her trying to insinuate that somehow voting for the first black president was against god.

Where the fuck this girl got this notion I don’t even fucking know. Just thinking about that ignorant shit this little black girl was spitting just pisses me off. MY SYNOPSIS

I figured out what wrong with this girls logic or lack thereof…she seems to believe that rest of the world thinks the president is god and that he is suppose to do gods job and since he can’t do gods job he doesn’t deserve her vote.

So it is painfully obvious that she has no idea what a president’s job is to do and that she is reveling in her own lack of knowledge on the subject.

Yes I have read her emails extensively and that’s what is going. She said that voting for president was against her beliefs and she explained her beliefs to me and that’s what she said. I have spent most of the day reading articles, listening to interviews of peoples reactions and watching the pundits on CNN, MSNBC and several other News Outlets breakdown the social and political implications of Obama's presidency and one thing is clear, this election means alot. Not just alot but alot of different things to alot of different people. And thats whats so astounding to me, my perspective is that of a black man so my excitement should come as no surprise to anyone but to see so many people Black, White, Asian, Hispanic, Christian, Jewish, Muslim all equally reveling in victory is AMAZING! I am so overwhelmed with emotion I can't even begin to write right now but I expect tomorrow to have a good blog summing up what this election means to me. But when the top 1% controls too much of the money "critical mass" hits and a recession is right around the corner. When income inequalities in this country become too skewed, it screws up the system. "The top 1% own more wealth in this country than the bottom 90%" According to Delaware Senator Bernie Sanders.

FDR's federal chairman who severed during The Great Depression likened this sort of financial catastrophe to a poker game:

So its Monday morning....back to reality I suppose. Lately I've trying to juggling a lot more things than usual. I’m in the middle of looking for a new apartment, trying to buy a new (used) car, a new HDTV, and researching the prospect of a second job; while at the same trying to appear that I’m not completely asleep at the wheel at work (though heavily distracted). The whole search for the new (used) car has been by far the most stressfull of things on my plate. With my current car on life support I’m feeling the pressure to make some things happen and fast. But with my past financial short comings (credit) coming back to bite me in the ass, on top of the fact that the current financial crisis has banks very hesitant to lend, it’s been increasing difficult to make something happen with this car situation without getting accepting a bad deal. Almost every car dealership that I've encountered has had tried to give me their own variation of greasy, underhanded, high interest rate, hidden charges, everything but the sticker price bullshit. But withstanding all of that I’m determined to get back on the horse until I can get a reasonable deal.

As far as the apartment is concerned I say things are going pretty well. I found one place that I liked at the right price but as soon as I put the application in the manager calls my roommate and informs us that the apartment we were looking at is actually going for a thousand more than what it was advertised online for. So with my budget already about to reach critical mass it looks like I’m going to have to keep looking. But it’s early in the apartment search so I’m not worried. As long I can get in to my new apartment before the 1^st black president is elected everything will be fine. Black President party here I come!

With the economy taking a hit and my new apartment potentially costing 30 percent more than my last one I’m starting to feel more and more that robnigga may be right about it being a 2 job market out here in L.A. Now when it comes to my second job I’m pretty clueless as to what I want to or more so what I’m willing to do as a second job. But I do know this, I don’t want my second job to be more stressful than my first one; and my first job is surprisingly stress-free.

I can’t wait for this election to be over. I am growing so tired of McCain supporters making racist comments and ludicrous accusations about Obama. I understand that so many people in this country’s very survival is based on racism and inequality. And it’s those Americans that fear that a black president will somehow loosen their strong hold on their position in society. But the fact of the matter is a black president isn’t going to destroy the mechanism of white privilege, so racist and bigots have no fear!

With or without a black president white privilege is sown deep into the fabric of the very foundation of America and its going to take a lot more than 1 black president to uproot that. Whites in America will continue to get first crack at jobs over their obviously more qualified non-white counterparts. Whites will continue to get slaps on the wrist for crimes that non-whites would get 5-10 for. White celebrities will continue to be caught with illegal drugs and then sentences to community service while over crowded jails around the nation are full of non-whites convicted on non-violent drug offenses. Whites in America will continue to get the benefit of the doubt in every given situation regardless of how red handed they're caught, while non-whites are inevitably guilty until proven innocent. With all that said I am disgusted at the blatant and outright racism I have seen displayed by some Americans over these last few months, disgusted! This election cannot end soon enough for me. And I PRAY that when this election is over the voices of these racist McCain supporters will fade into the background.

I can’t stress enough how disappointed I am that Americans are not above this sort of primitive behavior. We have the nerve to call our self the greatest and most civilized nation (while turning up our nose at the rest of the world) but in reality many of us are not very civilized at all. Everyone who has stepped up to voice their racist opinion and hate driven lies about Obama should be ashamed of themselves. And again I just cannot wait till this fucking election is over; this election though historic has put a huge spotlight on some of the ugliest parts, people and ideas in this nation. And I’m ready for that spotlight to cut off, indefinitely. If I had my way I’d turn everyone the same color (golden brown) and teach some of these mutha fuckas a lesson, how you gone be racist when we all look the same?

Rocker Chris Cornell Enlists The Services Of Super Producer Timbo On His Latest Album

Former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell has enlisted the services of none other than super producer himself Timbaland for his upcoming album titled “Scream”. Timbo's had the midas touch as of late cranking out successful pop hits for Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake, Madonna and One Republic. So it only makes sense that Chris Cornell chose to link with Timbo, who has some unexpected free time now that he’s not producing The Blueprint 3. Earlier this week on Ryan Seacrest's "On Air" radio show Timbo had this to say about the collaboration between himself and Cornell

"This is the best work I've done in my career."

Cornell was equally enthusiastic about the work and had this to say about how it all went down.

"For me, it was sort of a natural thing, to go out and make a record I hadn't made before. It wasn't a situation where I sat for a long time and thought about what my next move should be. It was quick, and the idea came to me after Timbaland had done a couple of remixes from the Carry On album. It got back to me that he was actually a fan and was interested in doing original material, and I got on the phone with him, and I suggested we go make a whole album. He was interested in that idea, and before I knew it, we were in the studio."

Reports are that the album should be out sometime next month. But the real question is Do I Care? And the answer is kinda. Since I’m a timbo fan and have been one since “One In A Million” my sheer faith in the quality of his production as well as his endorsing the album as the "best work of his career" will encourage me to at least take the time to check out the album.

This is Chris Rock's fifth stand up special Kill The Messenger and as with all his previous works this shit is CLASSIC. Rock delivers this brilliant special just months before the most significant election of my lifetime and hits every issues right on the head. Now I know that Chris isn't exactly as big with the female fan base as say Jamie Foxx or Martin Lawrence but withstanding all of that Chris Rock is the King of Kings in stand -up comedy right now and an All-Time Great.

To be so smart, funny, honest and insightful all at the same time is a rare combination in any comedian and Rock has proven he can deliver all that and more. He is truly a comedian ahead of his time. You want proof? Listen to Chris Rock's most famous and controversial segment "Niggas vs Black People" from his Award-Winning Stand Up Special Bring The Pain (1996) and then listen to Barak Obama's fatherhood speech (2008), and you'll see that many of the topics that Obama touched on (such as low expectations and the self-destructive anti-education/intellectualism ideology within the black community). Chris Rock did as well, only Rock did it 12 year earlier.

In a 60 Minutes interview Chris Rock later said this about the controversial segment:

Alloy Entertainment is about to drop yet another Movie about a “horny young virgin” trying to get a nut off, Sexdrive. The plots pretty basic, dude meets girl over the internet, feeds her a bunch of lies about himself and next thing he knows she wants to meet up. Now the sex deprived and inexperienced horny virgin goes to extreme lengths (driving across the country) with his wing man by his side in an attempt to lose his virginty with the internet hottie. The “horny virgin desperate to get laid movie" well seems to be the well that keeps on giving. No matter how many times they go back to it, it seems like it never gets old to Americans, especially as of late.

Most recently the movie industry gave us College (2008), I had the displeasure of watching this movie earlier this year on opening weekend in a jam-packed theatre of about 7 other movie goers in Culver City (no lie). Last year Producer Judd Apatow gave us Superbad and 40 Year Old Virgin in 2005, both Classics. Other notable movies exploring the same topic include The Wood (1999), Can't Hardly Wait (1998) and American Pie (1999)

It shouldn't come as news that virginity loss is an experience widely perceived as one of the most important turning points in a person's life especially for men, and it’s no coincidence that it's also one of the most common themes in media depictions of teenage sexuality. Every time I watch one of these movies I am reminded of the day I lost my virginity. I remember it as vividy as any day in my life. Prior to that day I never would have guessed I'd lose my virginity on my sister’s birthday ironically enough. What a day it was, got some cakes in the afternoon and birthday cake in the evening. The funny thing is when I walked in the door my dad took one look at me, and instantly he knew...he knew I was a different man. I couldn’t believe it, I guess it was written all over my face or maybe it was the fact that my young swagger was at an all-time high, regardless of however he figured it out, at that moment pops knew his boy had become a man.

And for the record I will be checking this film out opening day.

Congress Rejects 700 Billion Dollar Corporate Bailout!

On Monday President Bush's 700 Billion Dollar Bailout went before Congress:

WASHINGTON - In a stunning vote that shocked the capital and worldwide markets, the House on Monday defeated a $700 billion emergency rescue for the nation’s financial system, ignoring urgent warnings from President Bush and congressional leaders of both parties that the economy could nosedive without it. The Dow Jones industrials plunged nearly 800 points, the most ever for a single day.
Democratic and Republican leaders alike pledged to try again, though the Democrats said GOP lawmakers needed to provide more votes. Bush huddled with his economic advisers about a next step. The House was to reconvene on Thursday instead of adjourning for the year as planned.
The stock plunge began even before the 228-205 vote to reject the bill was officially announced on the House floor. The decline for the day surpassed the 721-point previous record, on the day after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, though in percentage terms it was well short of the drops on Black Monday of October 1987 and at the start of the Depression.
In the House chamber, as a digital screen recorded a cascade of “no” votes against the bailout, Democratic Rep. Joe Crowley of New York shouted news of the falling stocks. “Six hundred points!” he yelled, jabbing his thumb downward.
Bush and a host of leading congressional figures had implored the lawmakers to pass the legislation despite howls of protest from their constituents back home. Not enough members were willing to take the political risk just five weeks before an election.

“No” votes came from both the Democratic and Republican sides of the aisle. More than two-thirds of Republicans and 40 percent of Democrats (95) opposed the bill. Thats a total of 134 representatives.

Obama: "When I'm president, on the first day I'll make a plan and find a way for us to pay back so the people don't suffer."

All I can say is "Yes We Can" the rejection of the 700 billion dollar bailout is by far the best thing to happen since Bush got in office. All his other bonehead ideas have been embraced with open arms, so it’s good to finally see congress wake up and shutting his ass down (Too Little, Too Late). Its amazes me daily that they wanted to impeach Clinton over a halfway blow job (she didn’t even swallow) but we have a grocery list of Bush fuck-ups/miscues and no one is even talking impeachment. What the hell? But again it’s too little too late, I can’t wait for the geezer to get fuck out of office. Obama 08!
